December Daily Tip #11–A Penny for Your Thoughts

Our thoughts are powerful things! Regardless of what we SAY we believe, if we do not TRULY believe in our ability to succeed we may sabotage ourselves. Often that sabotage comes in the form of wicked little things we whisper to ourselves, things we would never say to someone important in our lives. For instance, “You know you can’t go to that party tonight and enjoy it without blowing all your hard work this week.”, which becomes an excuse to overindulge.
Let’s flip this around: for every time you think you cannot do something you want to do, list 3 reasons you ABSOLUTELY CAN do it! (For instance, it’s hard to talk with food in my mouth, I will position myself as far away from the buffet table as possible, I have a buddy attending the party with me that will help me stay on track, etc.) Then take those reasons with you to the party and ENJOY! (both the party and tomorrow morning)!
